Claire Elise Boucher was born on March 17, 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. 2][3] The variety of her earlier music has been called "lo hi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". Her music has incorporated elements from hip hop electronic, rock and hip hop. Her lyrics frequently address science fiction and feminist themes. The band has released five albums. Grimes was born in Vancouver before moving to Montreal in the year 2000. Grimes started releasing her songs as a solo artist in the early 2000s. two albums came out by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes, and Halfaxa in the year 2010. The following year, she joined 4AD and gained notoriety after the release of its third studio album Visions, in 2012. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion".
